By Indiana Mad Ants Staff /April 18, 2024

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – April 18, 2024 – The NBA G League announced the All-Rookie team for the 2023-2024 season on Thursday and Indiana Mad Ants player Oscar Tshiebwe was named as part of the five player team.

Joining Tshiebwe on the league's All-Rookie team are: Adama Sanogo (Windy City), Jordan Miller (Ontario Clippers), Terquavion Smith (Delaware Blue Coats) and Kendric Davis (Santa Cruz Warriors).

Tshiebwe becomes the first Mad Ant to be named to the league's All-Rookie team since Alex Poythress in 2026-2017. He is the sixth Mad Ant total named All-Rookie in the league and the fourth to be named to the top team. The league now only selects one five player All-Rookie team, but had previously selected three teams (15 total players) prior to 2020.

Tshiebwe was named the NBA G League Rookie of the Year on April 2 and honored that same night prior to the Mad Ants' home playoff game against the Delaware Blue Coats. He became the second Mad Ants player to win Rookie of the Year honors, along with Tony Mitchell (2012-2013).

Tshiebwe opened his rookie year with 33 points and 22 rebounds on November 11 at Sioux Falls, the first of 27 double doubles during the full season that includes Showcase Cup and Regular Season games.

During his rookie year, Tshiebwe set new single season Mad Ant franchise records for total rebounds (530), offensive rebounds (200) and defensive rebounds (330). On November 22, Tshiebwe broke the Indiana Mad Ants’ single game rebounding record with 28 against Motor City; that same night he broke the single game defensive rebounding record for the franchise with 20.

He finished the season as the NBA G League rebounding champion and set a new league single season rebounding per game record at 16.2.
