Oscar Tshiebwe, Elfrid Payton named 2024 All-NBA G League

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – April 18, 2024 – The NBA G League have announced their All-League teams for the 2023-2024 season on Thursday with two Indiana Mad Ants players among the fifteen honored.

Rookie of the Year Oscar Tshiebwe was named to the All-NBA G League First Team and veteran point guard Elfrid Payton was named to the All-NBA G League Third Team.

Tshiebwe becomes the 4th Mad Ant player named All-League First Team, joining Justin Anderson (2022), Ron Howard (2014) and Tony Mitchell (2013).

Payton becomes the 4th Mad Ant Player named All-League Third Team, joining Justin Anderson (2023), Walt Lemon Jr. (2018) and Tony Mitchell (2014).

The pair are the 15th and 16th players in the franchise's 17 year history to earn All-League honors.

During his rookie year, Tshiebwe set new single season Mad Ant franchise records for total rebounds (530), offensive rebounds (200) and defensive rebounds (330). On November 22, Tshiebwe broke the Indiana Mad Ants’ single game rebounding record with 28 against Motor City; that same night he broke the single game defensive rebounding record for the franchise with 20.

He finished the season as the NBA G League rebounding champion and set a new league single season rebounding per game record at 16.2.

During the 2023-24 full season (showcase + regular season), Tshiebwe averaged 16.4 points and 16.1 rebounds per game.

For Payton, he earns his first G League honor for his second season in the league after leading the league in assists at 9.7 per contest.

Payton became the Mad Ants' all-time leader in triple doubles on March 18 in a comeback win over Delaware; it was also the fourth triple double of the season for Payton.  His other two triple double performances came on January 23 and January 24 as he became the second player in G League history to secure triple doubles on back-to-back calendar days.

During the 2023-24 full season (showcase + regular season), Payton averaged 11.9 points, 5.4 rebounds and 9.1 assists.
