Mad Dancerz auditions coming August 27

2022-23 MAD DANCERZ AUDITIONS

  • Saturday, August 27
  • Location: Boys & Girls Club - 2609 Fairfield Ave., Fort Wayne, IN 46807
  • Registration/check in: 9 am
  • Audition begins: 9:30 am (Dancers should plan to stay 3 hours MAX)

Before submitting your application, please review the vaccination requirements below:

  • If offered a position to become a member of the Fort Wayne Mad Dancerz, the offer is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check and providing proof of your COVID-19 vaccination prior to your start date (September 8, 2022). Pacers Sports & Entertainment/Fort Wayne Mad Ants will comply with applicable laws regarding requests for exemptions from this requirement. Information regarding exemption requests is available by contacting Donna Wilkinson (dwilkinson@pacers.com).

Attend our 2022-23 Audition Workshop on Tuesday August 23, 2022

Workshop: 8:30 – 10 pm

Attendees will learn a pro style routine and there will be a Q & A session with the coach of the Fort Wayne Mad Dancerz

FAQs

Q: What are the minimum requirements?

- Candidates must be 18 years of age by July 11, 2022. There is no maximum age limit.

- Must have a high school diploma or GED.

- Please review the vaccination requirements to be a member of the FTW Mad Dancerz.

- Must be eligible to work in the United States.

- Must have reliable means of transportation, a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel around the Fort Wayne area and beyond; to and from games, various rehearsal locations and appearances.

Q: Is being an Fort Wayne Mad Dancer a full-time job?

- No. Members of the Fort Wayne Mad Dancerz have included full-time students and individuals with full-time jobs. The Mad Dancerz get paid for practice time, games and appearances.

Q: How many dancers are usually selected for the Fort Wayne Mad Dancerz each season?

- Traditionally, the Fort Wayne Mad Dancerz  has between 12-15 members each season.

Q: What is the time commitment like?

- Dancers must be able to attend rehearsals twice a week. Rehearsals will typically be held on Tuesday 8pm-10:00 and Sunday afternoons from 1pm-4pm. Practices may be held at various locations throughout Fort Wayne.

- If you are selected for the team, your commitment will typically begin shortly after the team is selected and continue until the selection of next year’s team.

- All dancers perform at every Mad Ants home game (preseason, regular and post-season included). Members are also asked to participate in appearances and various events on behalf of the Fort Wayne Mad Ants Organization throughout the contracted season.

Q: Anything else I should know?

- We ask that you provide references on the registration form. These references could be contacted at any time during the audition process.

- Candidates must be of good moral character.

- Must have a flexible schedule and be able to commit to the Fort Wayne Mad Dancerz schedule, which includes but is not limited to rehearsals, designated home games, community, charitable and corporate appearances for the entire contracted year.

- Previous dance training and experience in jazz, hip-hop and pom is helpful, but not required.
