2024-25 Season Recap - Jahlil Okafor

Acquired: Joined Mad Ants on October 27th, 2024 (Returning Rights) 

One of the veterans on the 2024-25 Mad Ants roster, Jahlil Okafor completed his first full G League season. In 41 combined games, Okafor was one of the most consistent performers for the Mad Ants. This earned him All-Showcase Team honors and a 10-day contract with the Pacers. 

Okafor made his presence felt right away with a 23-point performance in the second game of the Tip-off Tournament. In 15 games, he averaged 18.6 points and 8.7 rebounds per game. The Duke alum capped off the Tip-off Tournament with two stellar performances at the Showcase. He averaged 22 points and nine rebounds in Orlando and earned himself All-Showcase honors. 

He continued to dominate during the regular season portion of the schedule. Okafor averaged just shy of 18 points and 9.5 rebounds per game in 26 games played. The veteran center recorded four consecutive double-doubles from February 4th through the 27th. In the beginning of the regular season, he set a new career with 38 points on 18-21 shooting on December 30th against the Westchester Knicks. 

Okafor’s success with the Mad Ants paid off when the Pacers signed him to a 10-day contract on February 10th. He made his lone appearance for the Pacers the following day. 

He continued his productivity into the postseason for the Mad Ants. In the first-round victory over Greensboro, Okafor scored 10 points while recording seven rebounds, five assists and three blocks. During the second-round loss in Osceola, he scored 17 points while recording seven rebounds and five assists. 

The Illinois native led the team with 18 double-doubles in the 2024-25 season. He led the team in field goal percentage during the Tip-off Tournament and was second in points per game behind Dakota Mathias. He led the team again in field goal percentage during the regular season while finishing third in points per game behind Quenton Jackson and RayJ Dennis.
