Acquired: Traded to Mad Ants from Stockton Kings on March 6th, 2024
Rejean “Boogie” Ellis began his rookie season as a member of the Stockton Kings before being traded to the Mad Ants in March. The USC alum was a part of a three-team deal including the Austin Spurs. This deal saw Kyle Mangas traded to Austin while the Mad Ants received Ellis from Stockton.
After appearing in four games for the Mad Ants, a hamstring injury sidelined Ellis from March 20th through the remainder of the season. With the Mad Ants, he averaged 8.8 points per game while playing just over 20 minutes per game.
The athletic guard had some effective games with the Kings throughout the Tip-off Tournament and regular season. In 19 games, he averaged 10.3 points, 3.4 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game.
With the Kings, he scored 23 points twice on February 8th and November 27th. He scored 10 or more points in five games during the Tip-off Tournament. In the regular season, Ellis added six more double-digit games including two games of 20-plus points.
