Overview: Mangas made an immediate impact for the Mad Ants as the home state favorite. He was eventually honored by the NBA G League with a spot in the Up Next Games during NBA All-Star Weekend. He averaged 16.9 points, 3.1 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game for the Mad Ants, leading the team in total points scored as well as made three pointers on the season.
His 894 total points in the full season (regular + showcase) ranked 12th all-time in single season Mad Ants scoring, while his 121 three pointers are the fourth most hit in a Mad Ants season. Mangas also ranks 5th in three point attempts in a season (311) and eighth in single season free throw percentage at .860 (74-86) and spent much of the regular season ranked in the top three in the NBA G League in free throw percentage.
Alongside Isaiah Wong, who was second in scoring for the team, Mangas is part of the 10th best scoring duo in single season franchise history with 1,571 points between the two.
Mangas became Indiana's iron man during the season, appearing in every game of the showcase, regular season and postseason. He became the 14th player in Mad Ants history to appear in 50 games in the full season (showcase + regular) and because of Indiana's appearance in the Showcase Cup title game in December, he was actually the only player in franchise history to play in 51 games before the playoffs. Including his playoff appearance, Mangas' 52 total games played are the fourth most games played for the Mad Ants in a season, including showcase, regular season and postseason.
Notable Performances:
December 9, 2023: Scored 31 points with seven made three pointers in a win over Cleveland. Both of those sat at personal bests all season and the seven made threes was the top number in made threes for the franchise during the season.
January 31, 2024: Flirted with a triple double, scoring 25 points with seven rebounds and seven assists in a win versus Grand Rapids.
