Maurice Baker joined the Fort Wayne Mad Ants as an Assistant Coach on September 15, 2021.

Prior to joining the Mad Ants staff, Baker served for a year as a Player Development Coach for the Indiana Pacers. Prior to that, he served for three years as the head coach at Madison Sr. High School in Madison, Illinois and he runs the Moe Baker Basketball Academy, which started in 2012.

A graduate of Oklahoma State University, Baker played in the NBA G League for nine seasons starting in 2006. He spent his first six seasons with the Dakota Wizards, winning a title with the team in 2007. When the organization moved to Santa Cruz in 2012, Baker moved too and spent three seasons as a member of the Santa Cruz Warriors. Baker made six playoff appearances in the NBA G League, including opposite the Mad Ants in the 2014 finals.

Baker averaged 10.4 points, 4.9 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game during his NBA G League career.
